We like to differ - Voice Contact Center

We like to differ

At Voice Contact Center, we want every person to feel like themselves and be able to develop their competencies and talents. We want to be an organization that understands and supports the culture of diversity and inclusion, not only because we believe that such an approach has a direct impact on innovation and the development of the company, but above all because we want to work with people regardless of their gender, age, sexual orientation, nationality, views or other aspects of diversity.
To achieve this, we have already launched some initiatives to support diversity in the company or to counteract discrimination:

– Gender diversity and the #womenface campaign
In Deloitte’s 2019 report ”Women on Boards. Global Perspective” we read that in Poland women CEOs are only 6% of all CEOs of listed companies, while 13% of women are board members. Our company is therefore a phenomenon, as both the president and the board member of Voice Contact Center are women. According to the Deloitte report, it is worth investing in women in managerial positions as they guarantee innovation in the company and better financial results. We agree with the conclusions of the report, and therefore in 2020 we had 59 women in leader + positions, which accounted for 58% of all people employed in managerial positions. Moreover, women in our company are not excluded due to parenthood or family situation: maternity leave does not exclude promotion – in 2020 we promoted a woman to Project Coordinator one month before her planned maternity leave. We are also flexible for parents, giving them the opportunity to work home-office or part-time.
However, the most important principle for us is to build teams that are different from each other and thus complement and inspire each other. This is why we shortlisted a woman for the position of Python Developer and already in May 2021 a great male recruiter will join the female HR department.

– Cultural diversity and multilingual recruitment in Lublin
For multilingual projects we invite foreign students from Lublin universities, who do not speak Polish and who for this reason may feel excluded from the Polish labour market. We do not discriminate in our recruitments due to the lack of knowledge of the Polish language, and we focus on transparency in our recruitment and ensure free access to job offers, publishing them on portals for foreigners.
Currently, in Voice Contact Center, people from the following countries work on multilingual projects:
Jordan, Albania, USA, India, Ukraine, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Belarus, Egypt, Ireland
By employing a diverse team in terms of nationality and language, we strive to build cultural awareness, assist in the understanding of legal regulations and adapt the internal language of communication so that it is understandable for all foreign colleagues, regardless of their native language.

Fostering diversity in a company is a long-term process of building an organisational culture where cooperation, tolerance and respect are paramount values. What I already know is that at VCC we certainly like to differ and that is why we want to continue the challenge of creating a place where all our people function on the same rights and principles.
